Mini cities and flying robots

I know it's been about a year.
I'm terrible at keeping blogs.
But I've been working on some new things.
With the encouragement of friends, I've decided to try and actually update.

My good friend Elis celebrated her twenty second this year!
For her birthday gift I made her a cutout.
I've never done one with this many colors, so I'm pretty excited about it!
I hope you like it!

And there's a little flying robot. My friend likes to collect them, so I thought it might be fun to put in a little one. Just for kicks.

Anyhow, I hope to be updating more. Not just with papercuts (though, those will continue) but with other crafts too. I have been working on quite a few different jewelry pieces and refurnishing some old Goodwill furniture pieces!

To leave you with the adorable. I've posted pictures of my two dogs Yumbo and Puppy. Well, we got a new sweetheart a couple months ago! Her name is Frankie! We call her Frankerbelle. (She's the one with the eye patch)

Owls go Who! Who!

I'm doing a fundraiser dinner/art auction for summer missions.
and I've made a couple different cut outs for the event.
I only took a picture of one though.
I like Owls, they are cute.
This one is a small little fella. It's 3x4

Its been blazing hot, but I've got a melon pop.
I don't stop.
Stop.

Wearing plaid and staying in bed.

For Christmas this year, I made my sister a cut-out. It says "Chistar" on the top. It's what we call each other. I'm pretty pleased with how this one came out. If you look at the arms, they make no sense. I was too tired to redo this entire thing though. We call them hand-scarves.
Cashed out about 7 hours of sleep.

And because they are too cute. Here are my dogs.

Yumbo the big chow-chow/german shepherd wuss of a dog.

Puppy, the spoiled brat of the family.
Happy Holidays!

Scherenschnitte!

I've picked up this new hobby. It's called Scherenschnitte. And for the non-German speakers, such as myself, it's papercutting. I've been working on this new craft for a while now. And I decided that maybe I should make a blog for them. I just use colored paper, and a xacto knife. Here are my babies. I apologize ahead of time for the shitty pictures.
All of these I make for friends, just so you know.

These all have their names on them. This one says Thuy. It took about 5-6 hours to complete it.

For the girl who sees everything through a little black box.
The hands were so difficult on this cutout. I had to re-draw it so many times.

This one is the most recent, I did this for my friend Jina. Who loves to dance like no other.
7 hours on this babe.
I think I could safely say that that this is my first cutout that I did, where I tried to incorporate my own style. I like it.

The biggest of the bunch. It came out pretty clean, I think. Sorry for the flash.
I've made about 10 of these things? I hope that I've been improving.
This was my first one:
